New developments in the HIlaria Thomas Baldwin yoga lawsuit

When news of a student suing yoga teacher Hilaria Thomas Baldwin rocked the yoga world, we thought the student, Spencer Wolff, might be trying to take advantage of Hilaria’s new found celebrity as the wife of Alec Baldwin and that there might be more to the story than originally reported.

Turns out we were right. Other students in the January 15, 2013 class at Yoga Vida are coming to Hilaria’s aid, claiming Wolff’s accusations are false.

New information from the lawsuit reveals that Wolff was injured in Hilaria’s yoga class. His leg went through a window when he attempted a handstand, but other students say the accident wasn’t Hilaria’s fault.

According to the New York Daily News, student Melissa Petitto says that Hilaria told Wolff to take it easy and to be careful, telling him to “take little hops” (a cue most of us learning to kick up in to handstand are familiar with) before attempting the pose. Wolff also claimed the class was overcrowded, but Petitto says there were about 40 students there and that the Yoga Vida studio holds up to 70.

So, will Wolff drop the lawsuit against Hilaria? We’ll continue to keep you posted.
