If you have troubles winding down and going to bed at night, try these tips and this yoga for sleep sequence from Jessica Bellofatto.

Jessica says: "The practice of yoga can help improve sleep habits. There are certain postures that are conducive to quieting the mind, relaxing and releasing the nervous system, and promoting a deeper, more restful sleep. Try the following sequence about an hour or less before bedtime. In addition, heed the advice of sleep experts across the country": 

  • Go to bed and wake up at about the same time every day
  • Avoid caffeine after 12pm
  • Avoid eating late at night
  • Don’t consume alcohol close to bedtime
  • Create a soothing environment in your bedroom, earth tones, comfortable pillows, a slightly cooler temperature, and no technology in the bedroom!
  • Try chamomile tea, lavender oil, an eye pillow to block out light, and even a white noise machine or ear plugs if external noise is an issue.
