Eka Ekong's class is an absolute delight. We haven't felt that high from a yoga class in a long time. It's probably a good sign when you're teacher's name is part of a yoga pose (you know, Eka Pada Rajakapotasana). For starters Eka is strikingly beautiful inside and out, and she exudes a warm and grounded energy. Her voice is smooth and so is the pace of the class. You won't feel rushed at all (which is the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of LA), and you'll do really deep work so that you are truly getting the benefits of each pose. Amid intelligent and safe sequencing, the volume of her voice fluctuates from a speaking voice to almost a whisper. Why, you ask? She will address the whole class while she calls out a pose, and then go up to students individually, softly speaking an instruction to them while giving a pose-enhancing hands-on adjustment. She's the real deal.
