We have been craving a departure from the usual vinyasa classes that we frequent, so decided to dip our proverbial big toe into the kundalini pond. Kaline Carr-Khalsa’s class at Yoga West was a perfect segue to our re-entry back into this branch of yoga due to her attention to alignment – not something that is always addressed in kundalini classes. The focus of the lunchtime class we took was on attracting abundance, so all the chants, breath work, and postures worked to manifest that intention. The particular chant that she taught us stuck with us for days. Kaline demystified some the enigmatic traits of kundalini such as repetitive arm movements, which she explained helps break through old patterns. We left her class noticeably uplifted and electrified.
