Good-for-you ingredients
According to Christa, this healthy hot chocolate is loaded with magnesium and antioxidants from the raw cacao. Coconut milk is packed with metabolism boosting medium-chain fatty acids and adds a creamy consistenty, and Christa says sweetening it with stevia will keep your pancreas happy because this is a no sugar treat.
Dairy-Free Healthy Hot Chocolate
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
- 1-teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons raw cacao powder
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon powdered stevia, to taste
- 1 pinch Himalayan pink salt (optional)
Mix all ingredients together, heat on stove over medium heat. Bring to a boil and simmer for 3 minutes. Serve.
Make it your own
This recipe is just the beginning. Christa suggests making it your own by adding a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy hot chocolate or a few drops of peppermint extract for a hot chocolate mint drink.
