Food additives banned outside of the U.S. for being too dangerous


It’s disturbing to think that the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) allows U.S. consumers to eat foods containing dangerous additives that would get you jail time in another country. Find out more about these dangerous banned chemicals below.

The FDA allows us to purchase and consume a number of dangerous “foods” containing chemicals banned by other countries. There are six chemicals so dangerous that foreign governments have banned them from being used in food, but the FDA totally thinks they’re safe for American consumption. Nice.

20 minutes of yoga improves your brain function


The data is in - 20 minutes of yoga a day improves brain function. This finding is from research done at the University of Illinois, through the testing of 30 pariticpants. Subjects who took a test after 20 minutes of hatha yoga performed more accurately and faster than subjects that walked or ran on a treadmill for the same amount of time.

In Chapter 13, verses 8-12 of the Bhagavad Gita, 20 qualities of a supreme human being are listed. One of these qualities is “Service of the Preceptor”. Why would serving your teacher be a quality necessary to become enlightened?

Let’s start by looking at what a Guru is. "Guru," in Sanskrit, is the same as "teacher" in English. The first part of the word gu means dark and ru means light. A Guru helps one transform his darkness (ignorance) into light (knowledge of the self). Guru can be broken down further by saying G. U. R. U.
