Russell Brand jumps into moving vehicle on his way out of LA yoga class

What’s Hot

Recently on his way out of an LA yoga class, comedian Russell Brand was spotting jumping into a moving vehicle. Oh, snap – is that kundalini teacher Tej Kaur Khalsa's car!? We think so. Brand credits his meditation practice as a significant factor in his recovery from drug, alcohol, and sex addiction. Kundalini yoga must be his new "drug" of choice, and apparently he's addicted to green smoothies now too.

A sweet body treat

General by Katie Librie

Here’s a way to get gorgeous, smooth, glowing skin in a chemical-free way: make your own sugar scrub. Sugar scrubs gently exfoliate the top layer of skin, removing dry dead skin cells to reveal more vibrant, healthy and supple skin. Making your own body scrub is a simple way to save money while guaranteeing you’re using the most natural ingredients. The best part is most of the ingredients are probably already in your kitchen cabinet.

Simple sugar scrub:

1 c. regular or brown sugar

½ c. organic oil (sesame, almond, olive and grapeseed oil are all great)

Be a sleeping beauty

Getting enough sleep plays a huge role in creating a healthy, balanced life.  However for many of us falling asleep, or staying asleep, may be harder than counting sheep backwards…by twos…in Spanish.  Don’t despair, there is hope to peacefully catch your zzz’s.  Rather than reach for the Ambien, we can learn how to naturally relax our mind and body through movement, breath work and visualization.

A hair mask for the hot yogi

Style by Katie Librie

While we know sweating is great for the body, it’s not so good for the hair. If you’ve noticed your locks are dry and brittle, try a quick at home hair mask to get the shine, luster and volume back big time.

Mix one rip avocado with two tablespoons of almond oil. Apply to damp hair and leave on for 20 minutes (you may want to put hair in a shower cap to avoid making a big mess), then rinse, shampoo and style.

This treatment can be done once a week to boost shine and hydration.
