New moms - some great advice from our Ask a Yogi, Kristin Mcgee

General

Another great post from our resident Ask a Yogi, Kristin McGee.  She helps a new mother with some solid advice about shoulder strength. In fact, this is helpful not only for new moms but also for anyone suffering from shoulder injury or discomfort. Thanks Kristin, we always learn so much from your posts.

A nudge to get you to your practice - GAIAM Sol Yoga mat

General

I love gear.  I think it’s my background from lululemon, but I love how things feel and how they function.  With my practice, the number one thing for me is the mat.  To be honest, I have had the same mat for over two years.  It is quite beat-up and there isn’t much to it. BUT it is light and easy to port around, a key element for NYC.

Studio Anya - thank you!

General

I promise photos later tonight but wanted to share an incredible resource for NYC - Studio Anya. Not only are there amazing classes, the space itself is an oasis in the middle of the city. Applied Neo-Yogic Awareness (ANYA) offers some of the most innovative programming in the city - all housed in this super-chilled beautiful and welcoming space. Where else can you help yourself to flavored water, have a cup of tea, read a book from their library and chill out in their lounge?
